I would advise if you're on a domain to set the Edge policies with a GPO so you can keep track of it and not overwrite any previously allowed file extensions. You can create a reg file from the below to achieve the same. It now opens Visio files in Edge in IE mode. After some playing around and finding some other bits from Microsoft online ( ) I changed the open command for the Visio Viewer in the registry and enabled local files for IE mode along with the file types the viewer opens. Came across this post today as I was looking this up myself.
